Frostburg Studios × Cumberland Productions

Creating Opportunities. Building Connections. Inspiring the Next Generation.

Frostburg Studios × Cumberland Productions is a community-driven film and media initiative established by Warnick Media to expand creative opportunities for students, aspiring filmmakers, and media professionals throughout Allegany County, Maryland.

Built on the belief that talent should never be limited by geography, resources, or access to opportunity, the initiative seeks to bridge the gap between education and professional experience while strengthening the region’s growing creative community.

Through hands-on productions, equipment-sharing opportunities, professional networking, and collaborative projects, Frostburg Studios × Cumberland Productions provides an environment where creativity, education, and industry experience come together.

Our mission is built around five core objectives:

1. Real-World Experience: Provide students and emerging creatives with meaningful opportunities to gain practical experience working on professional film, television, and media productions.

2. Access to Professional Equipment: Help local filmmakers overcome financial barriers by providing opportunities to borrow and utilize production equipment, empowering them to bring their creative visions to life.

3. Creative Collaboration: Connect like-minded individuals with complementary talents, skills, and interests to encourage networking, partnerships, and independent productions.

4. Community & Skill Development: Establish a shared creative environment where filmmakers, students, and professionals can learn from one another, exchange knowledge, develop their abilities, and grow together.

5. Career Opportunities Beyond Appalachia: Help local students and aspiring professionals build portfolios, establish industry connections, and develop the experience necessary to pursue careers beyond the opportunities traditionally available within the region.

At its heart, Frostburg Studios × Cumberland Productions is about more than filmmaking. It’s about investing in local talent, removing barriers to opportunity, and creating pathways for the next generation of creative professionals.

We believe Allegany County has the talent, passion, and potential to become a thriving home for independent filmmaking and media production. Our goal is to provide the tools, connections, and opportunities necessary to turn that potential into lasting success.
